CRIMESTOPPERS charity board member Denise Ward, 48, is also a volunteer for Devizes Kats and Kits while running her own credit control business from home.
The grandmother-of-five has two children Simon, 31, and Nadine, 29. She lives in Devizes with husband Ian, 50, who is also a board member of Crimestoppers. The Wiltshire Crimestoppers Family Fun Day is on August 31 at Bowood House near Chippenham.
How would your best friend describe you?
Honest, reliable, perceptive and firm but fair.
Where would you recommend for a great evening out in Wiltshire?
I spend a lot of time at Bowood because we have got season tickets for my mum and my grandsons. We go once a week. It's cheesy but I would also say the Crimestoppers Family Fun Day because there is something for everyone.
What do you do for fun?
We go out for meals or for family days out. We would probably go out for a pizza to Pizza Express in Devizes or Café Uno in Marlborough. My husband said I should also say shopping. I like to shop.
What motto or saying do you try to live your life by?
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I just think that if everyone lived by that rule then the world would be a better place.
Who in the public eye do you most respect?
Joanna Lumley. As a kid I loved The Avengers. She is a vegetarian, like me, and she has done a lot of fundraising with Born Free. I loved her in Ab Fab.
What is your biggest regret?
I phoned my husband first and checked he was okay with this one. He said I tell everyone anyway so I may as well. My biggest regret is marrying for love and not money.
What is your favourite television programme or film?
Coronation Street is my life. I have been a fan since I can remember. It's because anyone in there that does anything that's wrong always gets caught.
What makes you sad?
Cruelty to children and animals.
Describe your perfect day.
I would take a limousine to the helipad; the helicopter would land near Harrods and I would go shopping with unlimited cash. I would then have a vegetarian lunch in a posh restaurant in the West End and watch an afternoon show in the West End, probably Chicago, and in the evening go to a pop concert. If you had asked me 30 years ago I would have chosen to see the Bay City Rollers but now it would be Take That. I'm a big child at heart.
